Model Record by Team
Answering the question: “does the model hate the Giants?” led to this investigation of how the model performs per team. These results do not consider odds nor strength of the model’s recommendation, i.e. a 51% pick is the same as a 61% pick in the table.
The model is best at picking NYY to win, with a 34-11 record when the model picks them. When the model fades NYY it is 4-6.
The model is best at fading WAS: it is 17-8 when fading the team. When the model picks WAS it is only 13-19.
The spreadsheet of all results is attached to this post. The columns are as follows:
“all” columns are the record of the model when that team was playing in the game, whether or not the model picked them.
“pick” columns are the record of the model when it picked that team.
“fade” columns are the record of the model when it faded that team.
